Music icon Snoop's New Album, Malice N Wonderland
Snoop Dogg is set to release his newest studio album, Malice N Wonderland, on December 8. Speaking to MTV News, the D-O-Double-G said, "I start off with so much malice in my heart when the record kicks in. By the time I get to the end of the record, I'm in Wonderland. I'm feeling good about life. I'm celebrating, happy about my wife, my kids, life in general. It's just a roller coaster of what I'm going through as I speak."

He continued, "I've always juggled the line: 'Should I make a gangster record? 'Cause I could kill all you rappers if I wanted to.' Then I have to sit back and say, 'I'm a business, so I'm gonna make records that can help me in this business.' I have to make radio records, but when I don't care, y'all in trouble."

Music icon Here Comes the Prince
Prince revealed to the Los Angeles Times that he will release three different albums this year, all outside the major label system. A new Web site, www.lotusflow3r.com, has been launched, which will sell the new music digitally. A "major retailer" is reportedly in negotiations to sell CD copies of the new albums.

Prince himself will release two of his own albums this year, along with a third from his latest protege, Bria Valente. The first album, tentititvely titled MPLSOUND, is described as "electro-flavored" with "trippy, experimental pop songs" by the Times. Q-Tip makes a cameo on MPLSOUND as well. The other album is guitar-driven and titled Lotus Flower. A handful of songs from Lotus Flower recently made their world premiere on Steve Jones' Jonesy's Jukebox show on KDLD (Indie 103.1)/Los Angeles.

Music icon Kanye Wants Less Fans
Whether you like his music or not, it's hard to deny that Kanye West can always be counted on for great sound bites. His musings to the press are often discussed and debated by fans worldwide, and even the smallest of his statements can wind up as front page news at multiple media outlets. This time, Kanye's new cover story with Vibe magazine is the hot topic of the day.

In the February issue, when asked if he was comfortable with fame, Kanye tells the magazine, "I made a decision. I wanna make popular music, but I want less fans. I want the freedom of having less fans. It's like the freedom of having less money. If you have less money, you have less responsibility. It's like Björk. If she wanted to pose naked, you'd be like, 'Oh, that's Björk.' But if I wanted to pose naked, people would draw all type of things into it. I definitely feel like, in the next however many years, if I work out for two months, that I'll pose naked. I break every rule and mentality of Hip-Hop, of black culture, of American culture."

Music icon Panic!'s New Album
Panic! At The Disco plan to release their second album on March 25. After scrapping the initial sessions for the record, the Las Vegas band started over with a new approach. Guitarist/lyricist Ryan Ross tells Billboard, "We just wanted the record to sound like four people playing a song/ A lot of the songs are definitely more geared toward playing live; we didn't think about that on the last record."

Ross recently told Rolling Stone that the new material is more Classic Rock influenced, name-checking "the Beach Boys, The Kinks, The Beatles. Our new songs are more like Classic Rock than Modern Rock. We got older and started listening to different music - and this seems like the natural thing to do right now."

Music icon Ike Turner Dies at 76
Rock & Roll pioneer Ike Turner passed away at the age of 76 on Wednesday. He died at his home in San Marcos, CA, right outside of San Diego, though the cause of death has not been released. While Turner is often remembered for his gruff image as the abusive and drug-addicted husband of Tina Turner, his impact on music cannot be denied. Turner's 1951 hit with his band the Kings of Rhythm, "Rocket 88," is widely credited as one of the first Rock & Roll songs, and Turner is a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
